THEORY TEST
You can start learning to drive once you have reached the age of 17 and have received your provisional driving licence.
Before you can take your practical test you must pass the theory test - currently £31. You will be asked 50 multiple choice questions and you need to score 43 out of 50, followed by a hazard perception test where you will be shown 14 video clips and you need to score 44 out of 75.
You need to pass both parts of the test at the same time to obtain your theory test pass certificate.
You can obtain further details from the Driving Standards Agency web site at www.direct.gov.uk
